MRL Operational Status

Updated Thursday, 8/27, 3:25 PM.

Operations of the Marine Resources Library (MRL) during unusual circumstances and emergencies are directly impacted by decisions made by both the College of Charleston (CofC) and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR). As a result of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and the disease it causes, COVID-19, in South Carolina and in response to current mandates from the State of SC, CofC, and SCDNR, the current status of MRL operations is as follows:

When entering the MRRI and MRL facilities, it is essential that you follow the following procedures to ensure your safety and ours:

  • Wear a face mask, covering your nose and mouth, at all times
  • Maintain six feet distance from others
  • Sanitize all equipment that you use, both before and after use
  • Read signs and adhere to the instructions described
  • Ask for clarification if anything is unclear

Material checkout You can check materials out at the MRL information desk, where we are operating a safe mediated check out procedure.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Please submit ILL requests for articles and book chapters that can be scanned by lending libraries and delivered electronically. We will process requests for physical items (books, theses, etc.) but cannot guarantee if we can obtain them, or how long it may take because we are dependent upon campus mail services and the operational status of other libraries.
